Your domain is the name people type to reach your website. You register it through a domain registrar and renew it every year.

Hosting

DNS: how the domain finds the hosting
DNS (Domain Name System) connects your domain to your hosting. When you change hosts, you update the DNS records (or nameservers) so your domain points to the new server. DNS also controls where your business email is delivered, so changes must be made carefully.
SSL certificate (HTTPS)
SSL encrypts the connection between visitors and your website. Without it, browsers show a "Not secure" warning, which scares visitors away and hurts trust and SEO.
