Key takeaways
  • Give retail buyers and business buyers separate paths, because they need different pages and calls to action.
  • Make the B2B quote request the main conversion, capturing items, quantities, GSTIN, delivery details and a BOQ upload.
  • Solution pages, clear after-sales service and honest reseller claims help win bigger corporate contracts.

A computer dealer's website has to serve very different visitors. One person wants a laptop for college this weekend. Another is an office administrator who needs forty laptops, a server and a new Wi-Fi network before a team moves in next month. Both will judge you by your website before they call, and both need to find what they want quickly.

This guide is for dealers, resellers and system integrators who sell and support computers, laptops, networking and other IT hardware. If you mainly repair devices, see websites for mobile and laptop repair shops.

Know your two audiences

Most dealers serve both retail buyers and business buyers. Their journeys are different, so plan pages and calls to action for each:

QuestionRetail buyersBusiness buyers
Typical needOne laptop, desktop, printer or accessoryBulk devices, servers, networking, licences and support
What they checkModels in stock, price, brand, warranty, store locationRange, capacity to deliver, GST invoicing, after-sales service, references
Best next stepCall, WhatsApp or visit the storeRequest a quote or book a requirement discussion

A homepage that clearly offers both paths, for example "Shop for yourself" and "IT solutions for business", saves each visitor from wading through content meant for the other.

A product catalogue that works

You don't need to list every model you can source, but you do need a catalogue organised the way buyers think:

  • Categories: laptops, desktops, workstations, servers and storage, networking, printers, UPS, peripherals and software licences
  • Brand filters: buyers often search for a specific brand such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer or Asus
  • Key specifications: processor, memory, storage, screen and warranty, shown consistently
  • Use-case pages: laptops for students, for design work, for office staff or for gaming

Hardware prices change often, so many dealers use a catalogue with "Get best price" buttons instead of fixed prices, and sell only accessories and stable items online. Whichever you choose, keep what you show accurate; see should you show prices on your website? WooCommerce can handle both approaches, including catalogue-only products and quote requests.

B2B quote requests

For business buyers, the quote request is the main conversion. Make it easy to send a complete requirement in one go:

  1. Items needed, with quantity and any preferred brand or specification
  2. Company name, GSTIN and billing details
  3. Delivery location and deadline
  4. Whether installation, configuration or data migration is needed
  5. An upload option for a requirement list or BOQ

A "quote list" feature, where buyers add several products and submit them together, works well for mixed orders. Business buyers usually want a proper GST invoice so they can claim input tax credit, so mention this clearly. If you also take online orders, see WooCommerce GST setup and invoices.

Pages for corporate clients

System integrators win bigger contracts, and those buyers want to see solutions rather than products. Useful pages include:

  • Office IT setup for new offices and expansions
  • Networking, structured cabling and Wi-Fi
  • Servers, storage and backup
  • Laptop and desktop rental, if you offer it
  • Sector pages for schools, hospitals, startups or factories, where you have real experience

Procurement teams also look for a downloadable company profile, your GST and registration details, and client names or logos (only with permission). If you are registered to sell on government portals such as GeM, say so on the relevant page.

Service and support

After-sales service is what keeps corporate clients with you for years. Explain it clearly:

  • How warranty claims work for the brands you sell, and how you help customers with them
  • Annual maintenance contracts for office IT, with what's included and response times
  • On-site support, installation and setup services
  • A simple support request form and a WhatsApp number for existing customers

Trust signals that matter

  • Authorised reseller or partner status, only if you genuinely hold it, following each brand's logo rules
  • A clear promise on genuine, new products, and honest labelling of any refurbished stock
  • Photos of your real store, warehouse and team
  • Genuine Google reviews, years in business and your full address
  • Certifications your engineers actually hold

Local SEO and speed

Most dealer searches are local, such as "laptop dealer in {city}", "Dell laptop showroom {area}", "networking solutions company {city}" or "IT AMC services {city}". To show up:

  • Keep your Google Business Profile complete, with store photos, hours and accurate categories
  • Write unique category and brand pages rather than copying manufacturer descriptions
  • Add product schema to catalogue pages so search engines understand them

Large catalogues get slow quickly. Compress product images, use good hosting and caching, and check the site on a phone over mobile data before launch.
