Key takeaways
  • Give prospective partners a dedicated franchise section with a page per format covering space, role, staffing, territory and agreement basics.
  • Break down investment and support honestly, label figures as indicative and avoid any promise of returns or payback.
  • Use a qualifying application form, an accurate outlet locator and clear disclosures, including a warning about fake franchise offers.

A franchise brand's website has two jobs. Customers want your products, offers and nearest outlet. Prospective franchise partners, often people investing their savings or adding a new business, want to understand exactly what they would be signing up for. If the franchise section is a single "Contact us for franchise" banner, serious investors move on, and your team spends its time on enquiries that were never a good fit.

This guide covers consumer franchise brands: food and beverage, retail, education, salons, fitness and services. If you run a PCD pharma franchise company appointing distributors, see websites for PCD pharma franchise companies instead.

Two audiences, one website

  • Customers need the brand story, products or services, offers and an outlet locator
  • Prospective partners need the franchise model, investment, support, requirements and process
  • Existing franchisees may need a private area for manuals, training material and marketing creatives

Put a clear "Franchise" or "Own a franchise" link in the main menu and footer, leading to its own section. Customer pages stay focused on customers, and the franchise section can speak directly to investors without cluttering the rest of the site.

Franchise model pages that explain how it works

If you offer more than one format, such as a kiosk, a small outlet, a full store or a master franchise for a region, give each its own page. For each format, cover:

TopicWhat to explain
Space and locationArea range, frontage, and suitable locations such as high streets, malls or residential markets
Partner's roleWhether the partner runs the outlet day to day or appoints a manager, and how much time it takes
StaffingHow many people a typical outlet needs, and who trains them
TerritoryWhether any area exclusivity is offered, and on what basis
AgreementTerm, renewal and the main obligations on both sides, in plain language

Real photos of existing outlets, shared with the franchisees' agreement, show what a partner is actually buying into far better than design renders.

Investment and support, explained without promising returns

Partners want to know the full cost before they apply. Break it down rather than quoting a single "starting from" figure that leaves out half the expenses:

  • One-time costs: franchise fee, interiors and fit-out, equipment, initial stock, rent deposit and launch marketing
  • Ongoing costs: royalty, marketing fund contribution, software or POS fees, and supply terms
  • Working capital: money needed to run the outlet until it covers its own costs

Keep figures current, label them as indicative and say that final terms are in the franchise agreement. Avoid phrases like "guaranteed returns", "payback in a few months" or "zero risk". Results depend on location, management and local demand, and promises like these mislead people and lead to disputes. If you share any performance information, make sure it is accurate, documented and explained in context, and have your lawyer review it first.

Describe support specifically: initial and ongoing training, help with site selection, launch marketing, supply chain, operations audits and a named support contact or area manager. List only what you genuinely provide.

Application forms that qualify serious partners

A good franchise form filters enquiries without scaring people off. A short multi-step form can ask for:

  1. Name, WhatsApp number and email
  2. City or area of interest, and the preferred format
  3. Whether they own, have shortlisted or are still looking for a property
  4. The investment range they are comfortable with, in broad bands
  5. Current occupation or business experience, and when they hope to start

Don't ask for PAN, Aadhaar or bank statements on a public form. Collect only what you need at each stage, explain how you use the data, and link to your privacy policy; see India's DPDP Act and your website. After submission, show what happens next: an introductory call, a meeting, a visit to an existing outlet, location approval, the agreement, training and launch.

An outlet locator that serves customers and prospects

A store locator lets customers search by city, area or pin code and find an outlet's address, hours, phone number and directions. Give each outlet its own page with photos, what is available there and a map that loads only when needed. The structure in websites for multi-location businesses applies directly.

  • Make sure the brand keeps access to every outlet's Google Business Profile, even when a franchisee manages it day to day
  • Keep names, addresses and phone numbers consistent between the locator and each profile
  • Remove closed outlets promptly, because a customer who travels to a shut store blames the brand

The locator also reassures prospective partners by showing where you already operate. A separate "cities we're expanding into" page helps too, as long as you are genuinely appointing partners there.

Disclosures and trust signals

  • Your legal entity name, registered office, GST details and official contact channels
  • The number of outlets, kept up to date, ideally showing company-owned and franchised outlets separately
  • Founders and leadership team, with genuine backgrounds
  • Trademark status stated accurately, using the ® symbol only for marks that are actually registered
  • Franchisee stories only with permission, and without income claims
  • A notice about fake franchise offers, listing your official domain, email and phone number, and explaining how and when you collect payments

Imitation websites offering franchises and dealerships of well-known brands do exist, so a clear warning protects both you and genuine applicants. India generally doesn't have a dedicated franchise disclosure law in the way some countries do, but contract and consumer protection rules still apply, and recruiting partners abroad may bring specific disclosure requirements. Have your lawyer review the franchise section; this is not legal advice.

Landing pages, SEO and speed

  • Make sure your official franchise page ranks for "{brand} franchise", ahead of portals and imitators
  • Create pages for searches like "{category} franchise in {city}" only where you are genuinely looking for partners
  • Use dedicated landing pages for franchise recruitment ads, with one format, one form and no distracting menus
  • Track applications as conversions, so you know which campaigns bring serious partners
  • Compress outlet photos and load maps on demand, so pages stay fast on mobile
