The First 90 Days After Your Website Launches: A Practical Plan
What to do after your new website goes live: week-one checks, indexing, tracking, reviews, first content, fixing issues and a 90-day plan to turn the launch into enquiries.

On this page
- Week one: test forms, links, HTTPS, redirects and indexing settings; set up backups.
- Weeks one to four: Search Console, analytics, profiles, reviews and links.
- Months two and three: publish helpful content, then review data and improve.
Launching a website is the start, not the finish. What you do in the first three months decides whether it quietly sits there or starts bringing in business.
Before launch day, run through the full website launch checklist.
Week 1: check everything works
- Test every form, WhatsApp button and phone link, on mobile too
- Check key pages on different phones and browsers
- Confirm HTTPS works everywhere and old URLs redirect
- Make sure "discourage search engines" is off and no noindex tags remain
- Set up backups and uptime monitoring; see uptime monitoring
Weeks 1–2: get found and measured
- Verify Google Search Console and submit your sitemap; see XML sitemaps
- Request indexing for your homepage and key service pages
- Set up GA4 with key events for forms, calls and WhatsApp
- Update your Google Business Profile, social profiles and email signature with the new site
Weeks 2–4: build trust
- Ask recent happy customers for Google reviews and testimonials
- Add testimonials and case studies to the site
- Ask partners, suppliers and associations to link to your new site
Month 2: start content
- Publish 2–4 genuinely helpful articles answering customer questions
- Link each to the relevant service page
- Share them on LinkedIn and WhatsApp
Plan with a content calendar.
Month 3: review and improve
- Search Console: which queries and pages are getting impressions?
- Analytics: which pages bring enquiries, and which lose visitors?
- Improve titles, calls to action and content on key pages
- Fix any errors, slow pages or broken links
Set expectations
Traffic and rankings build gradually; see how long SEO takes. If you need leads faster, run focused ads in parallel.
Ongoing care keeps it all working; see WordPress maintenance.
